About Hafiza
Hafiza is a Turkish course for learners who want to read, say and remember everyday Turkish. Words are glossed in English, the interface also comes in Arabic and Urdu, and the lessons, grammar notes and spaced review all run in the browser.
What is in it
105 lessons, 1098 vocabulary entries graded from A1 to B2, 30 grammar pages, 160 idioms, proverbs and customs, and 16 longer guides. Each word lives in a single content file, and the vocabulary page, the review deck and the printable study sheet all read from that one entry.
All of this material is Hafiza's own, put together for the site; there is no outside dictionary or textbook behind it to cite.
The vocabulary library, every idiom, proverb and custom note, search and the pronunciation button are open to everyone. The first 8 lessons and their review practice are free too; the paid tier opens the rest of the course and the full grammar reference. Review is a five-box schedule: a card you miss goes back to box one and returns the next day, and a card you keep getting right moves out to three days, a week, two weeks and then a month.
Who makes it
A single independent developer runs Hafiza, alongside a few other language and reference sites: Fahm, BolNama, Fijario and HijriConv. The guides carry the Hafiza name and no individual byline, and in their page markup the author field holds the Hafiza organization. No teaching qualification or academic title is claimed.
The date a guide displays records when its text last changed.
Where it stops
Hafiza awards no certificate and does not stand in for a teacher or a placement test. It has no say over what counts as standard Turkish. For anything where the wording has consequences, such as an official form, a name spelled in Turkish, or a message someone will rely on, ask a fluent speaker to read it.

If you are new to Turkish, the lessons are the natural first stop; the vocabulary and the guides sit alongside them. See also privacy and terms.
